Billy Joe Bowman has been involved in motorcycle racing since 1964.  He is a Charter Life Member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA).  He has over forty years of participation in AMA events, such as drag racing, flat track, ice racing, scrambles and motorcross. 

He currently races with the All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA), in the pro modified class.  He also races with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), Division One Bracket Series and AMA drag bike events with another bike.  Bill is involved with a group of family and friends who race motorcycles locally from which Team Raw was born. 

His sons and grandchildren all race motorcycles.  Bill's wife, Candy, assists with all of the duties of Crew Chief and all associated secretarial responsibilities.  Bill says, "Without my wife Candy's help, I would not be racing today."
